Good. Hope she wins. Loot boxes are a scourge on gaming.

:Oh no Valve made popular things that third parties can sell for crazy prices. Let's sue --those third party platforms-- I mean Valve.

Next do WotC.

There is no wqay this lawsuit wins. Maybe if her fucking lawsuit actually addressed that the gambling is targeting underage players but instead it just states gambling in new york is illegal... exc3pt certain exceptions which are the ficking lottery, sportsbook gambling, casinos, fantasy sports, bingo halls, bazaars, and race track gambling. But thats just what i could come up with off the top of my head. If i can play fantasy football using services that dont carry all the regulations sports books do, then I dont see how they can enforce this lawsuit for video games.

Itd be great if it won but im not guna shit in one hand and wish for this lawsuit to pass in the other to see which fills up first.

Do you think, maybe, perhaps, James thought of this while she was putting together the case? She's pretty smart.

I mean i read the court dociments. Did you? Did I miss something?

[–] Monstrosity@lemmy.today -2 points 10 hours ago

Okay, happy you did that. Are you a lawyer? Are you claiming you are better at building a case than James? Are you saying you have insight on angles she does not? I mean, if you are, that's cool, own it.

Even without the chance to earn real money the spirit of gambling still remains. Does buying trading cards (hoping to get one's desired pocket monster) look good on reflection? Companies "creating" value aribtrarily.

Correct move. But valve was the last one I think of with loot boxes. Insert Yoda meme: wait, there is another...

Haven’t similar lawsuits been lost based on the precedent set by baseball cards and such?

Valve has had crates and keys for over a decade... They sue them now? I'm sure discovery will have some interesting findings.

I loved OG Counterstrike, circa 2002 up to CS 1.6

They really ruined the gane with all that new fangled bullshit.
