He does indeed, and the public prosecutors have been notified, but alas- nothing happens (surprise)
If Netanyahu turns up in Germany (and right now, he isn't here, theres videos showing him in Tel Aviv while the jet was already landing in Berlin), but if he turns up, this might trigger a constitutional crisis. Chancellor Merz has assured him he would not be arrested, but by law he has to be and the Chancellor has control of the executive, not the judicative. Multiple citizens organizations have already called for legal measures against the Chancellor, should he try and interfere with an arrest.
In short: Merz has the power to stop the arrest, but it would be illegal and lead to interesting consequences.
They will do anything to not be perceived as antisemitic
the german government has publicly stated many times they support the genocide lmao
The German government is deathly afraid of anything that could be constructed as anti-semitic. Probably also bought, but that's just a guess. Pathetic, and I say that as a German.
Well we all know what it looked like when they found Saddam Hussein, but what about Netanyahu?
Hmm. Who'da thought that the right wing German state was all for death and destruction? Glad my grandfather is no longer alive to see what Israel has become after all he did to help them after the war.
What did they become? Pretty much all we're seeing they've been doing since 1948. You think folks left peacefully during the nakba? Entire villages were slaughtered, others levelled or burned. And this is not some small thing either. About 700k Palestinians were made refugees, i.e., ethically cleansed. What's the difference these days? Tik tok?
I think that's jumping to conclusions. Although I am certain our government ignoring his arrest-order is a real possibility.
He never loved Eva Bronstein. /s
Context:

There's a statue of Rome in Berlin?
Sadly Germany's current government is right wing and pro Israel, and the chancellor has publicly stated that they will ignore the ICC warrant.
Every German government is pro Israel.
Besides that one
Open a history book, please. The Nazis plan wasn't to kill all Jews, it was to deport them all elsewhere until they realized how absurdly expensive that was, then the plan kept getting worse and worse until the gas chambers era that somehow is the only fucking thing people know about Nazi Germany now.
Oh I know lol
Though I avoid bringing it up all the time...
I don't have the damn energy to talk about all that seriously all the time
I mean, that feels a little like saying “Andrew Jackson’s plan wasn’t to kill all native Americans. He just wanted to deport them across the country. Then things just got worse and worse, and now the only thing anyone remembers about that deportation plan is the Trail of Tears.”
The nazis based their policy on the genocide of indigenous Americans so that's closer to the truth than you think
The path is more important than the destination. Knowing the end result of a genocide does not help in prevention; however knowing step by step how a group of people was convinced to murder/torture/rape/enslave/dehumanize the entirety of another group of people is a massive help in preventing it.
As opposed to the last government that was "left" wing and pro pissrael
Disgusting. I’m so sick of these fascist genocide enablers. I hope Germans riot over this.
How are they gonna get him to stand under a Rome statue?
You drop it on him.
Someone sick a chair under the door handle.
Did he sign the guestbook at the Führerbunker?
Why'd he have to sign the book when it's Bibi's guestbook?
Hopefully right before he takes the pills
He has a chance to do the funniest thing
IRGC claim of assassination attempt/bombing of his location, prior to this. https://youtu.be/_Ls3AAEXLfU?t=1511
When I saw this headline yesterday I I smiling from ear to ear chuckling to myself. When I told my S/O they were also pleased.
