I came across this article on Reddit.

Apparently, Odysee plans on adding the ability for users to be able to watch any YouTube video on Odysee, regardless on whether or not the creator or video is even on Odysee.

Interesting, haven't tried Odysee much, yet.

The question: does Youtube know/allow this? They referred the annoying ads of youtube, so I guess they will not show up?

There are already alternative frontends for youtube, but having a platform do it instead of individuals, is easier to target for requests of takedown or whatever youtube decides to do about it.

Odysee still uses Google Adsense for revenue... So not a complete loss for google

It surprised me to see this. The good news is that apparently it doesn’t affect the revenue of creators..

Still, I don’t really know what to think about it as I’d just want the creators to move willingly to another platform.
