...I had my first real Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in Philadelphia. This is a love letter to the sandwich of sandwiches!

Whelp, now I'm hungry again.

[–] Unreliable@lemmy.ml 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

My first thought was "that doesn't look like mayo..."

[–] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 5 points 9 months ago

He liked the sandwich that much

[–] Quexotic@sh.itjust.works 5 points 9 months ago

And now I'm hangry.

Those are some of the best looking Philly cheese steaks that have never existed, and I'm sad and hungry.

I lived in Philly for a year. Great city, and the food is fire. A steak with mayo, mushrooms, and provolone was my usual.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Hell yeah!!!

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Fuck, that looks disgusting

I'm wondering now, how it is that you came to be shaped like a ball.

I imagine it was through the same time honored methods that I have used.

I started working from home 12+ years before everyone else with COVID and my fridge was in the same room with all my favorite things that some jerk stuffed it with.

I've lost the weight but kept the name. My kids used to say I was 18 months pregnant...

My wife and I took "baby belly" pics together. Can relate. Stuck at 230 trying hard to break the plateau.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I'm pulling for you! Those plateaus are a real pain and can be demotivating. I hit two on my way down from 260 to 180 and almost gave up both times. It's hard not to and to keep working and I believe in you!

Good taste!! Me too! Cheese is proof god loves us. Bacon too!

[–] THE_MASTERMIND@feddit.ch 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Have to try bacon one day everyone seems to hype it so much i don't think it will meet my expectation.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You've never had bacon? With that kind of a buildup don't just eat cheap bacon, there are grades of it. Get the best. There is disappointing bacon... Like most of the stuff that comes prepackaged at the store.

[–] THE_MASTERMIND@feddit.ch 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

So should i go somewhere like macdonalds or wendy's or something ? Do they even serve bacon ?

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Please never do that. They do serve bacon but it's sad bacon. If there is a local burger place that has amazing ratings they probably have good bacon.

King Soopers/Kroger/City Market (in the US) has thick cut smoked bacon behind the glass in the meat department and that's what I'd recommend starting with. It's pretty easy to cook and you can get a slice or two at a time instead of a whole package.

[–] THE_MASTERMIND@feddit.ch 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I don't live in US but will try and see if i can get it at local markets or restaurant. Thanks though.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I look forward to hearing how it went and what you think! I'm all excited now for a first time bacon test.

Don't hold your breath it might take some months or even years to get my hands on some bacon . I am planning a vacation this summer maybe i can score some from there lol.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Lol understood. And no pressure if you decide to go without. I have a few friends in India who say the same thing but can't get themselves to try pork and I get it.

[–] THE_MASTERMIND@feddit.ch 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

No i really wants to its just so rare around here . Also how do you know i am at india right now ?

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

I guessed, of all the regions I've worked with people in that's the region where it's hard to do.

I worked in BPO for a long time and have friends on every continent but Antarctica, and in all but India pork and beef are easy to come by. So I got a lucky guess 😆
