“Nope. You gave them to me.”

Even free, doesn’t like a good deal- you have to come to a Nazis country after all.

[–] redlemace@lemmy.world 8 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

you gave them

I bet they invallidate them if they don't pay

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 16 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

They have already been cancelled in fact. The only concession is that the seat number they had is still reserved for them, for a limited time, if they decide to pay full price

Then they should do everything they can short of paying to keep FIFA on the line for reserving the tickets. If everyone does this, it will lead to a portion of those tickets straight up not being sold.

They still won't get free tickets, but, fuck fifa.

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Well, it was only sixty tickets. And they were issued to people who were in the process of checking out at full price but a website error charged them zero. It wasn’t like, gift tickets that they changed their mind about

That being said Fifa should obviously just comp the tickets lol, if only for the good PR

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Oh. Ok, yeah. In that case the ticket "owners" don't have the moral high ground I thought they did. I hate to have to side with fifa, because fuck fifa.

That being said, yeah, I agree with your last statement. They should just write off the 60 tickets, and not even give people like me the bullet to aim at them with.

But, look how this entire fiasco of a world cup has gone. I don't think they care whatsoever about being the good guys.

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Yeah I haven’t been keeping up that closely, but just from catching a few headlines, it may actually be that these sixty tickets are actually a significant portion of their proceeds for the event haha

Were the tickets specifically for the American games? I'm reading the article and can't see anywhere it states the country

FIFA is a scam and has lost my following
