It's a shame we're not getting more Baldur's Gate from Larian, but it's completely understandable. All the people they worked with and trusted at WOTC have probably been laid off and Hasbro is probably desperate to replicate BG3's success. There's no way they'd be given the same creative freedom they had when they were originally working on BG3. Looking forward to whatever they put out next.

Which is why they (Hasbro) will fail. They will minimize fun and creativity to maximum profits and it will only work out financially because people will pre-order expecting another BG3 when they're really getting something more akin to Duke Nukem Forever.

I cannot wait for Divinity 3 but based on their earlier interviews it seems like it's not going to be their immidiate next game but rather they will go with a different IP. Div3 will likely come after that. I don't have a source at hand.

I saw it as well, they indicated it was going to be something different. Maybe a departure from fantasy rpgs to a different genre? They could try their hands at a cyberpunk or like a psychadelic high fantasy

Almost has to be, right? Take all the success from BG3, put it into new game where you have full creative control, profit?

Hard to imagine they would try to make something radically different when they can essentially reuse the same engine and genre/setting and make more profit that way.

I really loved bg. But I don't really care if that isn't their next thing. Divinity was amazing. They have a really talented team and I'd be shocked if the next thing they attach themselves to doesn't look amazing.

Well shit... Didn't they say they were gonna do at least 1 DLC some time ago? Can we at least get some tools to make our own campaigns, using the engine and assets then? I wanna sandbox this shit up in new maps.

They said a DLC was very unlikely bit they didn't completely ruled it out. Now they have.
