This has been my experience also. My Brother printer/scanner works great with linux.

Can I get LMDE with xfce instead of cinnamon? And more LMDE questions in c/linux@lemmy.ml

Yes you can run xfce on lmde. I installed the xfce from repos and it works great with lmde.

I use Iceraven with Ublock origin and have the bypass paywalls clean filter in my list. It opened this article with no problem.
