Regardless of how bad Putin's actions are, it never hurts to listen to what he says as he still dictates what happens.

Don't worry, it is a load of bullshit on Ukraine indeed, starting with vague historical references, but you better know what kind of crap you deal with. On a positive side, it adds some valid critique of the US - not of Biden or Democrats, he goes through with no respect to exact party, and mostly back in history, but related to modern situation.

It never helps to cut yourself from information, and it doesn't validate his position if you listen to it. The best approach to critics is "checking out and then reasonably confirming it's crap".

Don't know why it should be so downvoted - the problem is real. Battery swaps, if properly implemented, could be an amazing solution. Or we have to better figure out fuel cell technology to improve conversion efficiency.

I understand the general policy is "it's a worthy sacrifice", but many people just really won't be able to accept such drawback, either due to packed schedule combined with requirement for personal transportation or yes, simply because it's heavily inconvenient.

There's no need to run a server if you can do the same locally.

Server is useful when you have a lot of devices with limited memory, or want to take advantage of some specific functionality server software may offer.

Ethereum is a Layer-1, which is focused on super ironclad security and eternal preservation. It's more of a catalogue than a practical way to transact. Now, Layer-2's on the backbone of Ethereum (Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, etc.) are able to handle thousands of transactions per second.

For example, Polygon has a capacity to conduct up to 7200 TPS (while practically being used to the tune of 50 TPS simply because people don't actually need that much currently).

If you want Layer-1 that is focused on speed, there's Solana, for example, with 300.000 TPS tested and potential for 710.000.

This problem is essentially solved for everyday applications. The reason Bitcoin and Ethereum has such a low TPS is that they've never focused on TPS to begin with, instead opting for the most hyper-secure networks people store value in. I'm not saying Polygon or Solana aren't safe - they're perfectly fine - it's just that Bitcoin and Ethereum have laser-focused on that aspect, making compromising the blockchain even by biggest of institutions entirely off the table.

I assume you're speaking Bitcoin, cryptocurrency that uses Proof-of-Work consensus.

Proof-of-Work is very secure, super decentralized, but it's the culprit behind mining and subsequent electricity drain.

There are other consensus mechanisms, like Proof-of-Stake, to which Ethereum, Solana and many many others have migrated to or were based on to begin with.

Proof-of-Stake requires about 100x less electricity, is reasonably secure and is the default option for modern cryptocurrencies. Thereby the energy argument gets less and less relevant, while the fuss around it is only gaining speed.

Many of them are genuinely highly skilled players.

Apparently that (and genuine cheating) is some part of Asian culture that brings the "I can't enjoy the game unless I excel at it" mentality to a whole new level.

I also wonder how it goes in southern parts of Africa, for example.

Africa is not really a region full of servers, and routing connections from there to, like, Europe through underwater cables must be a pain like no other.

Sorry that you have such an experience; many online games have fairly toxic communities, others do not; and for every game you can find amazing and kind teammates if you look closely!
