Congrats on joining Linux squad!

Linux gaming got waaaaay better than in before times. Also, the system itself is a miracle for someone coming from Windows. I remember that feeling. It's correct :)

Actually a common practice to gain a leg up in the market and kill the competition. This can drag on for long, but the endgame is always buyers getting screwed by a monopoly/oligopoly.

Moreover, the concept of race is outdated and deprecated in the scientific community, mainly because most people (and nations) had some influence of several of them and can't be strictly categorized as one or the other.

Cool that you mentioned Jews, because they are a very interesting case study. There is so much diversity within them that you'll never be able to tell which race they belong to. There are even large groups of black jews living in Ethiopia, Uganda, Nigeria and other countries, which is a revelation for many.

There will be a blocklist, then.

But fundamentally we can do very little to prevent the inflow of random instances - if only instances will implement whitelist federation, but that obviously hurts decentralization and adds a lot of headache

A small note: in 0.19 Lemmy has introduced the ability to defederate from instances on per-user base.

Now, when lemmy.world updates, you'll be able to block Threads from your Settings.

Many instances already updated.
