Lol. If you haven't tried I, you really should. It's like an Enemy Within Demake, with all of the same features and better strategy. You can get an Alien Grenade Launcher that allows you to strategically control the route of the grenade. It allows for absolutely bonkers strategies like blowing a hole in the top of an alien battleship, guiding a grenade in blind to the enemy command structure, and then dropping in afterwards like some sort of Hi-Tech Psionic SWAT Team. Makes the entire enemy team panic. And makes for easy clean up.

Absolutely loved that game.

Edit: I think Xenonauts 2 is supposed to be pretty similar.

XCOM: UFO Defense (1994)

It's by far the best version of XCOM. I mean. The graphics are as great, but it has all of the same features as the modern version (not joking), and I think the strategy is by far better. You can also have your own base that you have to defend.

If they are willing to defend facism and defend a dictator....then what's the problem?

At some point your "I'm just doing my job" becomes, "I support an American dictatorship.". Do you not have morals? Your "job" has now become antithetical to the American Democratic Ethos - you are now a de facto traitor to your country. Last I checked, traitors are an enemy of the state.

....so again, what's the problem?

I agree that most creators don't become wealthy, and yes, there's plenty of abuse and inequality in how IP laws are applied. But removing those laws wouldn't solve that - it would just give even more power to the entities with the most money, reach, and legal muscle.

Without IP protections, smaller inventors and musicians wouldn't even have the option to negotiate or earn anything off their work. A major label or corporation could just take it, polish it, and release it as their own without any consequences.

So while the system isn't perfect, saying it "only exists to make the rich richer" misses the point. The alternative isn't more equity, it's no recourse at all for the little guy.

This is a terrible take. Sure. There are issues with the system, but these laws protect smaller musicians and inventors from having their ideas stolen and profited upon by larger players.

Without patent laws, there's no reason to ever "buyout" a design from an inventor, or for smaller songwriters to ever get paid again. A large company or musician could essentially steal your work and make money off of it, and you would get nothing for all of the time and effort that you put into it.

That's totally an older generation thing. My father refuses to change diapers unless he's the only one there. The grandfather brags that he never changed a diaper in his life. Yeah....that stopped with my generation.

Most millennial guys that I know are more invested in their kids. They change them, they wake with them, they play with them, they feed them. I don't understand why older men frowned upon it like it was some sort of horrible thing to take care of your own kids. Toxic masculinity is such a fragile, yet destructive thing.

Which...uh....Au mine are we talking about?

You should check out the HBO documentary on Qanon. It's fantastic. Essentially, no. However, I don't doubt for a second that Elon didn't try to co-opt it at some point.
