I enjoy that it reminds me of a Star Trek console.

Probably by design but all the same.

I’ve literally never seen it not on sale so… no wonder..

It’s a cheap (in switch terms) game for parents to get their kids.

I don’t find this surprising, personally. I think every game resaler is going to die very soon unless they go heavily into the niche vintage market.

Everyone has access to the internet and can see what their physical games are worth. And with everyone pinching their coin purse because wages aren’t there, the valuable games that are highly sought or can net near-original-value or more probably aren’t being traded in, they are being sold privately.

Besides which, modern consoles have made the resale market worthless in the long term, what with more than half of them being digital only. It’s really only a matter of time before the only resale of games is vintage markets. You can buy used disc games for nearly-new prices, and I don’t see that dropping because of the limited run of physical games.

Mm idk about that bitter unification thing 😁.

I have some eggnog and horchata teas that literally require both milk and sugar to taste anything like what the label says, but if you add those things they are amazing (if you like horchata or eggnog)

I also have some other flavored teas that highly benefit from the addition of one or both.

Anyone who is a purist on tea or coffee or really anything to do with taste… is missing out. Big time.

I went to a donut shop once (sugar isn’t my thing, especially early morning, so yes, once) on my way to work at 3:30am, and ordered a coffee “the color of a plain or egg bagel before toasting” and they actually got my milk ratio spot on.

This was a very long time ago in my early 20s, and I like the coffee flavor more now; I drink coffee in soup bowl cups, which are appx 4cups. I milk and sugar the first cup (1/4 cup whole milk, 1 heaping tbsp sugar) and top off with plain coffee every inch or so as I drink it or it cools, so whatever’s in the first flavor cup is all I use.

I know some people like black coffee, and that’s great for them, but I need to cut the bitter to get the pleasant flavor, and milk and sugar are exactly it. I can do without one or the other, but not both.

By being female or through loss?

Cuz I mean roughly half the population of the US has zero by default and they are included in this statistic. So for them you may also be part of why the number is greater than zero.

That article is full of speculation; “if this” and “if that” and “if this other thing” than it will be great for everyone!

“If” is doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting..

I released a few thousand a couple years in a row (got ooth, hatched them, there are just a lot of eggs in each) and would occasionally see the adult females around my property for a few years after (I’m not sure why the population never took hold, it should have and didn’t).

They are totally chill and will walk onto your hand pretty readily. They are also thrilled to be fed small insects from tweezers, and really like moth larva.

Is that actually a thing people say? I live in the north woods and I’ve not heard that…particular logic… then again I tend to avoid hunters..

But omg purposely letting something starve because of its biological shortcomings is not the way. I’d for sure be dead in that world.

Fr I think this is my problem with the new “advancements” and why I find myself more drawn to Linux as time passes. The “foolproof” of modern tech is also troubleshoot resistant and difficult as hell to do anything with.

I often say I am lucky that I grew up in the narrow window between when computers became a household commonality and when running and repairing them was affordable, because in that narrow window it was learn or buy. Learn to fix it or shell out for a new one, and they weren’t stable enough for buy to be an option for most households for what was basically a toy. So fam being broke, I learned. I’m not in IT or anything (don’t have the credentials to get hired and entirely unwilling to get them when I already know how to do all the things, I’d rather be unemployed than spend more on worthless credentials.. see? Millennial.) but I love running my own hosting and stuff, which means constant learning how to maintain. If I didn’t grow up at that exact time, would I bother, considering this isn’t a job for me and never will be? Probably not, honestly.

I hated the iMac lockdown (and deleted the hard drive registries from every iMac I came across while it was an option to do so, essentially bricking every device I came across, because that’s just piss poor management to allow a group user to brick the entire device… 😅) I hate the windows forced-maintenance (11 doesn’t give a fuck what my active hours are, because I have them set to everything but a 6 hour span of morning when I actually won’t be using it. Still does updates mid afternoon, breaking everything I host on it until I’m home to confirm login even with all security disabled and resume settings enabled…)

I just hate everything except DIY, and I grew up with that. It so difficult to get it to do what -you-want it to do without bowing to the overlords who dictate how it can be used and I’m so over it.

(The swap off Linux was of necessity 2x, the Beast died due to mobo failure and I bought an off the shelf win tower to replace it, but also needed to run the VM for work and Linux couldn’t manage the niche client they went with.. but now I’m not employed, buh bye windows! Nevah again.)

lol at the thought of “this part of your body that you use multiple times every day for vital survival functions and various other functions like communication is mostly cosmetic, you’ll do just fine without!”

Teeth bleaching is cosmetic, crowns and fillings and whatever are restoration of normal functioning.

If we were meant to be ok without properly functioning teeth, we wouldn’t have teeth in the first place. That’s a stupid argument biologically speaking. (No offense intended to you personally, ofc)

I understand that Americans have a disproportionate focus on the -specifically cosmetic- aspects of oral hygiene, whiteness and straightness, primarily, but to say that most oral care is unnecessary and purely cosmetic is just absolute hogwash.

Mind you this is from someone who intends to get all her teeth ripped out and replaced with implants because no matter what I do, I average a cavity every 2-4 years. It’s cheaper in the long run to get implanted dentures than to fight my genes. So I understand entirely the being toothless by 30 (tho I’m 36 and still have all of them, I think I have more fillings than teeth at this point, and if most of those weren’t done free in the military I’d just have no teeth) but I disagree vehemently with the idea that that’s totally fine and won’t cause problems.
