A bit off-topic the last part reminds me of Terry Pratchett - Lords and Ladies

The Lancre Morris Men the mixup of name and occupation is a good gag.

  • Jason Ogg (occupation: smith and farrier)
  • Baker (weaver)
  • Bestiality Carter (baker)
  • Obidiah Carpenter (tailor, poacher, cesspit cleaner, and carpenter)
  • Tailor (weaver)
  • Thatcher (carter)
  • Tinker (tinker)
  • Weaver (thatcher)

Yes we need the society to look like Hercule Poirot's England where you had to wait for your uncle to die, or help them on the way, to get some inheritance.

1900 employees, that's something like 10 big games that won't be released, or we can look forward to more outages and bugs in the new releases, and slower fixing of those bugs.

Thanks Microsoft for your contribution to enshittification 🏅💩

We even have the current streaming services as examples, that's why Ubisoft are greedy for getting people to subscribe.

Game streaming services will eventually be:

  • Fragmented: You will need to have multiple subscriptions to play the games you want.
  • Games will disappear without notice (We already see this on app-stores).
  • Prices will be jacked up at a whim, and premium tier plans will be added.
  • And as the pièce de résistance: Full of ads.

The bane of Lemmy searches, or the medal of "My query was not specific enough".

When it's like that I'm happy we only have the cheapest netflix, and then 🏴‍☠️ when they eventually remove what you were watching.

They even removed One Punch Man 🙄

Looking forward to 50 seconds commercials and 10 seconds tik-tok videos, but that's just YouTube.

I would watch about 16 minutes before giving up.

In the old days flow TV was max 25-30% ads, how can people live with 50% ads? At that rate it will be "Find the content" so in a few years with 90% ads watching a 45 minute show would take 7.5 hours.

That really explains a lot, and why MS jumped to Windows NT, they knew that DOS would always be Dirty.
