My advice is to just look at the screenshots of a few mainstream ones and pick one that looks the most usable.

A few:

  • Mint - Can't go wrong if you like traditional desktop.
  • Pop OS - Great for gaming (and many other things).
  • Zorin - Never used it, but it's supposedly easy, and very polished.
  • Ubuntu - Has many haters (including myself), because of nuances, but honestly it'll do the job just fine.

That is entirely incorrect. Microsoft doesn't own the company and never did. MS bought the phone division and a license for the name to go with it.

I tried to look up what this notice is actually about, but there's nothing out there yet. So can't say much being a patent troll "arm" either.

I would assume that these people are there mainly because they know what to do if something goes wrong, instead of sitting there for easily automatable tasks.

The meme artist here is not thinking in enough dimensions. These constraints result in a tetrahedron. So you just need to stand in a triangle formation and have the last guy go in the center and float less than the average human height above ground.

Depends on how easy it is to jailbreak.

I doubt GDPR can reach this in any way as it's foreigners' data collected and stored in a foreign country.

I'm not sure if it's directly EU-level, but unauthorized identity registries collected without consent are very illegal here; a certain religious organisation already got into trouble for keeping track of households that might want to talk about jesus. If this app is legal in US, the law really needs to be changed.

MCDONALD'S!

In my experience lots of games go for this "generic movie-like" style, which sounds high production value, but where the composition is just unmemorable filler that says nothing.

Halo was great in this regard, so I don't think that's what he's going for here. Hell, I'm instantly getting Halo ost playing in my head while writing this.

Yeah, maybe a big ignore community button could do.

Maybe it's the proportions, but that thing does not look compact to me.

Say you you're maintaining a FOSS app on your own time. How interested would you be to pay Apple $100 annually for the privilege of giving their users free stuff?
