I'm not sure if it's directly EU-level, but unauthorized identity registries collected without consent are very illegal here; a certain religious organisation already got into trouble for keeping track of households that might want to talk about jesus. In my experience lots of games go for this "generic movie-like" style, which sounds high production value, but where the composition is just unmemorable filler that says nothing.
