Regardless of the criticism on this article, you do have to give credits for the writer actually reaching out to Birdwell, and doing at least some investigative journalism.

I've worked for multiple different ISPs as support while getting my degree, and there was only 1 good one. Main reason was that they said: "fuck metrics, just fix the problem".

Lutris and steam's proton (with protontricks if needed) have worked for me quite well so far. Biggest possible issue is with the different dependencies that games might have (I'm looking at you .NET)
