I've been using Organic and OsmAnd for a couple of years now after using Google maps for a long time. What I've noticed is that all three seem to prioritise different things when planning routes. Google seems to prioritise speed, Organic seems to prioritise shortest distance and OsmAnd seems to prioritise quieter roads but is very similar to Organic.

For me it's not just about money. It's also about dignity and about universal human qualities. At best this kind of thing is an unfair trade and at worst it is material perversion of what is good about human nature.
How are producers/consumers okay with everything being so mediocre??
I'm not. My particular beef is with is with plastics and toxic materials and chemicals being ubiquitous in everything I buy. Systemic problem that I can do almost nothing about apart from make things myself out of raw materials.
Good idea!
there is service-specific tool to do that i.e tidal-dl for Tidal (hi-fi music service)
Do you know of any others?
If the whole sector turns out to be garbage it won't matter which particular set of companies within it you invest in; you will get burned if you cash out after everyone else.
I'm against it because it is making money at the expense of others dignity. Also it is an appropriation and conflation of kindness and generosity with wealth, which undermines people's self-esteem and celebrates consumerism as a solution to the problem of poverty, which has deeper systemic roots.
Number go up until number go down.
It's just investment bankers conning investment bankers out of other people's money.
Its ok though - just make sure none of these people are playing with your pension or savings.
I think AI has mostly been about luring investors into pumping up share prices rather than offering something of genuine value to consumers.
Some people are gonna lose a lot of other people's money over it.
Their website does make security look like a big priority. I wonder about the security of my YUNOhost server but am not really sure how to evaluate it.
That's cool. I think I've been using it for nearly two years. I had no prior experience with servers and got a bit confused at times in the beginning but these days I hardly need to touch it. How come you're thinking of switching to Cosmos just out of interest?
For the cyclists here I just want to mention cycle.travel, which is hands down the best route planner I've ever used for nice bike rides which are direct but avoid nasty roads. It doesn't have an app (that I'm aware of) but you can use the website to generate a gpx track which you can import into OsmAnd and use to navigate offline.
