That will be the way to go for sure. Immersion is everything in these games.

Nothing sweeter than imagine "fuck this shit I'm out" playing on loudspeakers all over the world as you board the rocket and look down at the smoking husk of a world you leave behind.

I'm also a Civ V truther. VI never hooked me at all but I still regularly go back to V as a comfort game.

I wasn't aware of that, that's neat!

I don't want to sound negative, but this looks... mediocre? The only thing I really want from this series is a proper HD remake of HoMM 3 with both expansions included. Which is a big ask I know seeing as the source code was apparently lost, but a man can dream.

I miss the times when he actually put out good games, despite all the hyperbolic over promising. Dungeon Keeper was fun, the first Fable was fun, Black & White 1 was fun.

Looks like PieFed is experimenting with a potential workaround.

Cool solution!

Ah, I see! Thanks for the explanation. I'd go back and check but firefish.social isn't around anymore.

It's really a shame since interoperability is such (theoretical) benefit of ActivityPub, but what can you do.

I'm fairly sure I was able to comment on Lemmy threads while experimenting with Firefish like a year ago - though it of course struggled with displaying threaded content.

All good suggestions. Multi-communities has been requested for a long time and would help combat the userbase split across for example gaming communities @lemmy.world and @sh.itjust.works.

Subscribing to individual threads would make following ongoing discussion much less tedious than it is now.

I haven't been keeping up on backend development so I didn't realise Lemmy made that change. That's a shame. Thanks for being so helpful though!
