If we're going to call something malware we better be damn sure we understand the definitions of it.
My thoughts exactly. This tech has amazing implications for people with paralysis and other disorders that prevent the use of their body. It sucks that this egomaniacal asshole is the one controlling it's development
Yep, it really comes down to knowing you're buying an unfinished project that has the potential to never change from its current state. Never buy a game based on the promises, buy it based on whether you'll enjoy it now. It also helps if the dev has a good track record of releases. Things like valheim and palworld im OK with buying because even if they never change, I still had many hours of fun with them for the price.
It's the eternal problem of not wanting to break backwards compatibility which I totally get from a dev perspective. From a user security standpoint though, it kinda defeats the purpose of even having the system these days if it's so easy to circumvent.
the fact that a perms system is essentially opt-in for non UWP apps is laughable
Who said anything about trusting Microsoft? No piece of software is going to ask you for permission for every single operation it does. Malware is more than just that.
You understand and give explicit permission for every piece of the kernel?
Well that's because you're always on that damn Gameboy playing your pokemans, now go do your homework or I'm deleting your pichachu
