Well, time to switch providers.

It's a short for uBlock Origin.

Try OuterTune (available on F-Droid). It's a YouTube Music client without ads. And YT Music itself can be used with uBO.

I was browsing Lemmy in the morning as I usually do. And I stumbled upon a post called "To all EU/Europe Open Source/Linux Enthusiasts", which is basically a philosophical post about someone proposing a plan to push Linux phones to the mainstream. But I noticed several factual errors, which is fine (please do your own research before you post something), but I also noticed one single piece of information that's missing: allowing local e-shops, like the green alien one, to resell your Linux device on their site.

Leave your thoughts on this down below.

Freedom/privacy/Linux device makers are the problem, not the distros, they're fine. I'm sure their CEOs are very knowledgable about what they're doing. The only thing that matters for me is whether I can get them without paying customs fee at my local e-shop. There is a reason why Framework, Pine64, System76 and other privacy manufacturers are on freedom-hating social media. To get reach. So why they shouldn't do the same with local e-stores?

(translated) According to my statistics, the vast majority of my visitors use a Unix-like or Unix operating system. What do these OSs have in common? They all have their own preloader, which is used to load shared libraries.

This is what happens when you don't split the technology and business part to two responsible persons. You can have a good product, but if I can't get it easily into my parcel locker provided by the delivery company/local e-shop, theI won't notice it.

I use Fedora and it works flawlessly.

The problem are not the distros, not even the phones itself. The problem is that these FOSS/privacy phone manufacturers don't sell their stuff through local e-shops like Alza. This makes them more greedy than the big tech and it is one of the reasons why they're not widely used. Yeah, they lose 30% (or whatever percentage they have in the contract with the store) but this will recoup itself in the long run.

This is doing business 101. Don't think short term, think long term.

Same on Tubular with a Mullvad VPN with DAITA and Multihop turned on.

Don't they provide Live ISOs with an GUI installer?

According to my statistics that I look at, my second largest group are those who are on some Linux distribution (it just shows up as "Linux" there for me). Why did I write this? Because this group of people indirectly start their system through something called initramfs. Let's take a look at what it is and how to use it to our advantage.

For me, it's Shared GPU memory.
