Nothing in my comment is anything to do with computer chips The entire basis of my comment that you responded to was about the absence of computer chips. You literally suggested the speed queen as an option that met my desire to have an electronics free washing machine.

A 60 second search for information revealed you are full of shit: speed queens definitely have circuit boards and computer chips in them. Turns out your comment was just performative.

That's the problem.....it was from ten years ago. The 30 year old maytag died 20 years ago, so it was made in the 70s

What a dickhole thing to say to someone

I fixed our last dryer with a 12 dollar belt. It took about an hour and most of that was cleaning lint out of it. Lasted a couple more years.

Reminds me of comic books. Comic books had a boom, with some selling multiple versions of the same issue with different covers "for collectors" and enthusiasts snapped them all up, kept them safe, stored them in plastic, went out of their way to make sure their collections were complete, only to fall on hard times and find out their collections were worth a fraction of what they spent on them when they tried to sell. Turns out that the Early Spiderman or Superman comics were worth alot of money because most printed copies ended up in the trash creating scarcity.

I mean, "Yes...And?" Would have been a fair response to what you said

I would pay extra if I could still buy a washing machine with no electronics in it. They maytag of my youth lasted 3 decades without repair or maintenance (tho it was loud as fuck at the end) I especially can't imagine feeling the need to make a washing machine internet connected.

Oh I know. But there have been many similar slim minorities of Christians over the Millenia.

You left out "pick the correct translation of that book". There are people who are 'KJV Only' who believe that the King James Version of the bible is the only correct divinely inspired version.

Diverse, sure. But some statements hold true across most of that diversity. Almost every Christian individual and denomination is selective about what parts of the bible they listen to. Since some parts of the bible are contradictory, this is sometimes a necessity. But other times it's just people being people.

Christians are almost always been selective about what parts of the bible they believe (or even bother to read) and this is an easy example. The bible makes very clear that the date the world ends will be known to none but god. There won't be a warning from angels and humans won't be able to figure out in advance. There could be signs it's coming that people pick up on but someone saying "it'll be this day on this month" will always be a lie. That aside, why would a Christian who thinks the world is gonna end sell anything? What will you do with that money in Heaven?
