Remember when the FAA investigated SpaceX's violation of it's launch license over them ignoring warnings of worsening shockwave damage after their botched SN8 landing?

Pepperidge Farms Remembers.

Like you say, nobody is making this explosion out to be a deadly emergency but it also probably doesn't inspire confidence when the company fails so much more often than it succeeds. Starship engines have been "unexpectedly" exploding for years.

Also why it isn't a replacement for birth control.

Yeah, but how available are those clinics to the average person? I've never looked into it personally, but I assume travel is necessary and costs are out of pocket.

I just wish I could search a term of more than 2 words and get relevant results rather than pages that contain at least one of the words in high volumes. That's the only reason I ever use google, for years now. Encasing the words in quotes doesn't seem to function at all on DDG, either.

I misread the [raised herself] bit as [raised you herself] and I thought maybe you were a halucinating ai generating word salad for a minute lol.

The Caveat is that it is permanent and irreversible for the average person with very few exceptions.

EDIT: added "for the average person"

It actually wasn't, I used to think that as well, but they just moved it to a different section of their Code of Conduct, out of the Preface. Part of the reason so many people think it was removed is because of the countless headlines saying it was removed...

(from the preface)

They did violate federal labor laws by firing 3 employees who brought forth a lawsuit alleging the clause was a contractual obligation, though. So that sucks.

There are already copycat products out and I don't feel sympathy for any of them.

[–] FiniteBanjo@lemmy.today 4 points 6 months ago

That's a nice road, maybe it's a historic society making sure they don't ruin a nice road, lmao

Lemmy as a whole does not have moderation. Moderators on Lemmy.today cannot moderate Lemmy.world or Lemmy ml, they can only remove problematic posts as they come and as they see fit or block entire instances which is rare.

If you want stricter content rules than any of the available federated instances then you'll have to either:

  1. Use a centralized platform like Reddit but they're going to sell you out for data profits and you'll still have to occasionally deal with shit like "The Donald."

  2. Start your own instance with a self hosted server and create your own code of conduct and hire moderators to enforce it.
