That's the spirit

Family is the relationship, relatives are who you're related to.

Found family is better anyways.

Republican

advocate for people's rights

You really can't be both at the same time.

After this election I've had to cut a bunch of people out of my life, even relatives. A lot of them saying such wonderful things as "trump's just saying things, he doesn't actually mean anything he's saying." And then they'd get defensive when I'd ask them why they votes for him then if he doesn't mean anything he says.

It's really hard to cut people out of your life but afterwards it's amazing realizing that you don't need to tip toe around things that may be vaguely political (or explicitly) anymore to not start an argument.

NGL dying due to climate is definitely preferable to dying due to fascist hunting people like me

With the fascist in power they're going to speed up the climate destruction

So maybe the fascist will kill us with the climate

yay?

Having your own data can be incredibly useful and valuable, the trick is protecting that data so that nefarious actors can't use it.

10 years and counting

There's so much bullshit in new cars that's it's infuriating, especially considering the cars call home with all kinds of privacy violating bullshit.

My Mini Factory is primarily where I get mine (if you want a list of users I primarily buy mine)

Cults3D is another place but they're a lot more hit and miss on quality IMO

The best models are purchased models (in general) though MZ4250 on Printables models are free and also pretty high quality.

Personally I won't pirate models of people in the 3D printing mini community as I want to support the creators in that space as they're not giant megacorps.

And at this point I don't trust Microsoft to not stuff them in there as a "last update for Windows 10"

Ah that makes more sense

They probably horde that data like a Dragon hordes gold

Only 6 months? Honestly I'm surprised it's so short of time frame.

"Won't someone please think of the shareholders‽"

Sucks to suck, I'm so looking forward to easy cancellation from services.

It's more a "If a company doesn't comply with a coutry's regulations then it can't operate in that country" thing and not a joke.

For example Twitter when it was blocked in Brazil for a little while because they didn't want to pay a fine for not complying with some of their regulations.

I'm in the process of switching my machines to Linux Mint from Windows and on my network drive I have a bunch of folders that are sorted with the help of preceding underscores (like this "__folder1" "___folder2")) so that folders appear in a specific order.

When my Mint machines access the drive they sort by the first letter skipping the underscores and I'd really like to have that functionality back rather than having to rename a bunch of folders to try to sort them again. (I'd like to avoid a preceding 'A' workaround if possible as there's a bunch of folders)

Any suggestions? A setting I'm missing (very likely) or something?

Edit: The more I look the more it looks like I'm going to have to make a custom locale to be able to get the sorting I want from the default Mint file manager.

I took this pic while on vacation to South East Oregon (specifically a place called Lake Abert) using my Lumix G9 and my 100mm - 300mm lens at the full 300mm and f/5.6.

I was really happy that of all the critters I saw that day this one sat still long enough for me to get a decent shot.

This little bird chilled for quite awhile singing away which was pretty cool.

I took this picture on the last day of a not long enough vacation this month. I was really happy with how the moon had just enough light to give the shape of the mountain some contrast and how the wispy clouds cought the light from various sources.

I took this with my Lumix G9 with a 25mm f/1.7 lens, a 15 second exposure, and the iso set to 1600.

I had taken quite a few shots with the intent of stacking them but those attempts just didn't come out feeling like it did to be there. This shit though captured that feeling IMO.

I can't wait to give My Adams the same treatment later this year.

TLDR: If you were building a NAS for 8 HDDs and 1 SSD today, what case would you use?

I'm going to be rebuilding my system soon (currently using an old PowerEdge T610) using one of my other older (R5 1600) systems and I've basically hit a road block on picking a case.

I've got 8 HDDs that need to fit in the system after it's rebuilt (plus at least one SSD) so I'm kinda limited in that regard.

The rest of the system is planned out (mostly because I'm reusing old parts) it's just the case I'm stuck on.

I'm wanting to avoid rack mounting currently mostly due to space (and wanting to keep it under $200)

I was thinking maybe the Fractal Design Define R5, the Fractal Design Node 804, or the Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 but I'm open to suggestions.
