All it will take is for folks to look and see you voted in something and they won't see the context or will misunderstand your intentions and they'll ban you. This shit happened back on Reddit too and it sucked. They'd blanket ban people who interacted in a community without looking at what you actually did.

~~Sill waiting for someone to show me how to see what someone up votes and down votes on Lemmy through a pre-existing Mbin or Mastodon instance. That's really been the only convincing argument to make them public that I've heard. (That convinces me, I mean.) But nobody has shown it is possible through fedia.io for example. I tried but couldn't see it, but it's possible I was looking in the wrong place.~~

It's on mbin's post/comment under more > activity. Not under a user's profile.

After dealing with tcl errors trying to test sqlite, I feel I've never seen a more scathing criticism of fossil.

Damnnnn, I heard that. I went on a damn spirit quest after Windows pushed out a botched update that I rolled back from using a system image that failed. There truly is nothing like seeing that the system images you've been dutifully making for literal years were no good the first and only time you needed them. I was able to salvage it but holy fuck, what a ride.

Out of all the horrible shit Windows 10 did, making my username firsl (if my name was first last) was one of the most frustrating. I literally reinstalled because I couldn't fully change it everywhere.

Modded Minecraft is memory hungry. Even normal Minecraft can be. I've seen people suggest alternative JVMs (open j9) because they supposedly garbage collect more aggressively before requesting more memory. I tried this once with Forge back when it had to patch everything when it began (maybe still the case, idk) and what it actually did was just make everything slow to a crawl because the JVM wanted to collect instead of allocate more and keep going.

File bug reports with mid authors and Mojang of it is using way more memory than they say it needs so they update their docs but this is pretty much par for the course.

Think about it like this. You have a table. You have papers. You're doing complicated math. You can use more and more of the table for scratch work on your papers. At some point you run out of table space. You consolidate the papers and notes you've taken on them. But that's time you could've been doing more "useful" work. Now, what if you had like 90% of the table still full once you did that? You'd honestly need more table.

Minecraft is a great game, but when you push it to the extremes it has difficulty keeping up.

You've made a believer of me.

Not even 10 am and I'm being erased.

why ban them?

They were describing someone who downvoted everything seconds within the post arriving.

Please be vocal about this because I've seen two people say they didn't see this behavior. ❤️

Barring setting up an instance or viewing through mbin, I don't think mods can see them. Only admins.
