To me this pretty strongly confirms my assumption that the board’s attempt to force out Sam Altman was totally justified.

I hope that other non-profits who might have been curious about this hybrid structure see that it was a failure in strengthening the non-profit. I predict any remaining benevolent goals of the organization will be completely subsumed by the for-profit arm, if that process is not already finished.

Holy shit this dude fucking lives on his plane. Like I feel guilty about the 2-3x per year I fly to see family but this fucker has flown that far already in the past week. Why? Does he not know how to do a video call?

Lemmy instances would probably have far fewer resources to fight with. But also more likely to fly under the radar so I don’t know overall.

Hopefully this information is not being retained so until industry players take notice it should be safe.

The courts should not tolerate hidden clauses in pages of legalese that literally no one, not even lawyers reads. If you have a misleading claim advertised that the buyer is more likely to see, then your hidden clause is invalidated.

Could this be the basis for a lawsuit? I mean everyone had to know that this platform wouldn’t last forever, but it’s not as if they’re shutting down completely. Seems like they could easily port this feature over to the new platform, they just choose not to. Is that breach of contract?

Those are fundamental features of the current system. If you want to suggest a copyright system that does protect smaller creators from bad actors but doesn’t allow the mega-corps to bully and control everyone, then feel free. But until such a system is implemented it see no reason to defend the current one which is actively harmful to the vast majority of creators.

Copyright is a scam anyway so who cares?

Shit I forgot libraries offer this service. Even better.

Why would anyone buy such a printer? You could just go to a print shop at that point. Though honestly that’s already what I do so maybe it’s for the hikikomori or something. I don’t know why the home printer still exists in this day and age.

What happens when the casing get punctured? When you mass produce these devices these things will happen.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 12 points 10 months ago (3 children)

What’s that got to do with anything?

No need to fight, they’re both trash.
