Oh you could absolutely meme about the protocol itself and the way it is implemented. lots of potential there.

The statistics thing is a downside of how Mastodon implements ActivityPub.

Two possibilites:

  1. I think you can simply hide the counts if it irritates you.

  2. You can install Fedifetcher to pull in missing interactions to your local server: https://github.com/nanos/FediFetcher

I'm not sure the comparison to suicide holds up. I could just as easily compare it with migration where it is absolutely true that people will find a way to migrate even if you take away the easier methods. It's simply completely different things.

Evolving ActivityPub is not easy, any additions to the protocol take a lot of time and discussions between the various implementers.

Thats probably a complete nonstarter in a federated network. The metadata needs to be sent via Activitypub, ergo it has to be public.

The aesthetic of a penis is way more dependent on shape than on how big it is when soft imo

Boost has a very easy-to-handle implementation of crossposting

This is the US, minors posting themselves would also lead to arrests.

(And the actual platform with a reputation for minors selling their nudes would be Snapchat)

The article explains it in one case, an adult woman verified the account and then they posted a minor's videos on it instead.

But the article also said that they only know about 30 cases in 5 years in the US. Which doesn't sound like a huge amount to me personally (still too many obviously)

Yeah.

Diaz set up an account and had a woman verify it as hers. That woman, whom police didn’t identify, later quit OnlyFans. But her account remained live and accessible to Diaz. He filled it with videos of the underage girl

That's really not easy to catch, no matter what platform you are. Some people will do complicated shit to evade the eyes of the law for their illicit activities.

Well the thing about a tournament is that of course we cant know the team pairings of quarterfinals etc until the games before have been played. So we would need a source that updates itself with that info
