They make a lot of high quality shows in my opinion, and have made a lot of great ones in the past. Max is a better service than Netflix in my opinion.

HBO make shows that feel closer to the "human condition" than most other companies.

Max has the following great shows: Game of Thrones House of the Dragon The Sopranos Oz What We Do In The Shadows The Wire Silicon Valley Rick and Morty True Detective Season 1 Rome +++

Edit: Remembered Last of Us which was great

Cool idea, love more competition in this space!

I was unfortunately disappointed by the first query I did. I searched for "Norway" and did not get any good results. I expected Wikipedia or something similar, but did not get anything good. Maybe I used it wrong?

I am not sure if this is true, maybe I am misunderstanding something. I use GrapheneOS and can use all banking services in Norway just fine. GrapheneOS does have a translation layer or something like that for Google Play Services, is that what you are thinking of?

Can you elaborate a bit on the google and apple servers for authentication? My impression was that this system uses its own platform.

Everyone in Norway has one, well like 99,99% or something. It is a requirement for banking.

It is used for all banking services in Norway. When you get your own bank account at 13 or something you also get BankID.

You are correct, but i'd like to expand a bit on how it could be solved.

It requires that all major social networks use BankID for all traffic from Norway.

Bypassing it would require a VPN, which is a simple hurdle.

But the major win here is that parents will enforce this. Parents can point to this law and say that they have to be old enough. As long as enough parents enforce this law and the VPN requirement is there, then it will probably be effective enough

Not saying you might be right, but this could be solved with a simple API that returns yes/no for the age check, without providing additional information.

I am no Microsoft fanboy, but I get the impression people are a bit overly skeptical here.

I think this is fairly obvious. They have no further use for it, they can either let it rot or they can do the tiniest bit of effort and get some positive PR. It might also just be as simple as an initiative from some employees.

In the scenario in which your computer is forgotten or stolen, it would offer some comfort knowing that the data on the computer is not accessible.

We have a "policy" in our household that everything that has personal data should be encrypted. That is just for cases in which we lose the device or it gets stolen. That makes it a purely financial loss, and not as invasive / uncomfortable.

But on the other hand my household are not average users. So it might not work well for other people.
