I've worked for various militaries and governments, the decisions I've made have hurt people, when I say hurt I don't mean physical harm but the choices I've made have impacted people lives. When people celebrate war they have the urge to hurt people whether they want to admit it or not.

Yeah it is I'm not denying it, but as a person who has often experienced the urge to hurt people I can't pretend I'm some saint I just do everything I can to avoid that urge and the people and things that try to stir it up in me...

Of course it doesn't I completely agree with you, but honestly the military is fucking demonic and the urge to harm other people can come from lots of places, I wish I could say I'm immune to it I'm not sadly and neither are you probably. I think you're misinterpreting the meme a bit, I feel it's a lot more mean spirited. This isn't a personal attack by the way.

Mad? No, but will I point out that the US military/every military spends ungodly sums of money on propaganda whether it be movies or video games or books or art to get dumb young men to join. Do I blame people for being propagandized from birth? No. Does that excuse the people who joined just because they wanted to kill people? No. Do I think people are capable of change? Yes. Its not like there isn't plenty of military propaganda on this website.

How I feel rn: 😮‍💨

Lots of them are yes, I'd say capitalism is the latest mode in which humans can express their problems.

No thanks I don't need some one constantly explaining that to me. I'd rather have some one reminding people to wash their hands.

[–] Pissed@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago (6 children)

I do, but that won't stop some one on the internet explaining it to me for the 100th time.

Ah I figured you were american, don't take this the wrong way but I feel like you guys often treat European leftism more like an intellectual exercise than what it actually was which was a mass political movement that touched millions of peoples lives in different ways. Millions of people lost their lives families were torn apart whole countries were dissolved or they gained their independence. I don't think the United States has ever really experienced anything like it since the civil war. The twentieth century is moving further and further away but for lots of people the political systems it created and ideological conflicts had very real effects on the people who experienced them.

Its cool, don't worry about it if people know a lot about history they'll probably be able to guess from the context and most intelligence agencies already know who I am if they wanted to come for me they could. I just don't need to make it explicit 😀

More than just draining politics can get you killed. I edited my other post so idk if you saw it but just out of interest are you american? You don't need to dox yourself it's why I didn't tell you which country I'm talking about, but you were close to guessing which social democratic party I'm talking about.
