Also let's remember what is exactly reason why Iran look like it look in the first place: it's because USA couped democratically elected center-left government, propped up the shah, helped him exterminate any and all leftists there so the only possible opposition force that remained was the religious extremists (who btw were also kept on hold by west as alternative).
I would said it's because bothsiding this conflict where the nazi entity is clearly attacker, also for idealist prattling about "rights" to have nukes while the only country which already used them against civillians have thousands.
And WSJ is not even the worst, since it sometimes publish at least real data. But look at rag like the Economist which was purely capitalist propaganda since day one which was so long ago even Marx himself was around to note it's an organ of aristocracy of finance.

Russians credit Putin for taking them out of the absolute nightmare of 90's (somewhat correctly) and for resisting the west (also somewhat correctly). Because you are right, Russians are not stupid sheep, they do know that west is reponsible and having the choice between nationalist like Putin and nazi western puppets like Navalny they chosen the former.
As a Pole i can confirm, our foreign politics is like that. Except nowadays we just ride USA aggressions so there is no declarations of either war or peace.
