I didn’t know this, thank you for explaining.

Yep, and to keep that access to games (and their livelihood) most of them have to talk well about games or risk being cut off.

I wonder if more games will go the Lost Ark route and make the massive paywall at the endgame. Then reviewers will play the games for 30+ hours and it’s still fun, but then hit that endpoint and if you don’t open up your wallet you don’t go anywhere.

I always wait until the Steam reviews about a week after. Has kept me from making a few mistakes.

I still have Starfield a try since it is included in Xbox Gamepass and holy hell, if I paid $10 for that game it would have been a rip off. It was about as exciting as watching shampoo commercials after taking three tabs of Xanax.

It always amazed me how the literal Nazi accounts could tell me to off myself, that they would kill my family, and other such things, and they somehow don’t violate the TOS.

But me trying to delete my posts is an automatic prime directive rule breaker and my account gets banned.

It took a really long time for Reddit to reach a point to where it was decent and attracting new communities. I am hoping all the niche little places move over to Lemmy, or at least off Reddit.

If there is a niche community you miss, you could start it over here. I have no idea how to go about doing it, but it might be worth it for you. Start making this the better place.

The Reddit admins DO behave like that.

We use them as single shot spit ball launchers. It’s common to settle disputes lining up like a napoleonic army and blasting at each other. We need gun violence, but don’t always want someone to die.

I was in the process of deleting everything, 600k karma over seven years, and my account got permabanned. I don’t think Reddit is taking too kindly to their AI info being messed with.

I have noticed a massive drop in the quality of posting in Reddit over the last year. It was on a decline, but there was a massive drop off.

It’s anecdotal to what I have read off Lemmy, but a lot of high Karma accounts have been nuked due to mods and admins being ridiculously over zealous in handing out permabans.

I got into painting mini Warhammer 40k figurines during covid, and thought the lore was pretty interesting.

Every time I watch a video, my suggested feed goes from videos related to my hobbies to entirely replaced with red pill garbage. The right wing channels have to be highly profitable to YouTube to funnel people into, just an endless tornado of rage and constant viewing.

Flex writing is more like calligraphy, but a pen doesn’t need to have a full on spring nib for it. I like a medium flex nib for slight line variation while taking notes, but use a very flexible nib for the journals.

What is nice about a flex nib is it lets you go into a world of fancier inks and papers that can really make writing enjoyable and fun to look at. I have too many inks right now, but use them all. They are fun to write and draw with as well.

The Noodler Ahab was my first flex pen. I would still have it but my kid broke it. Was my fault for letting them try it, dropped it right on the nib like a torpedo.

Ants.

And the fountain pen issue is likely bad pens. Are you try to do flex writing?
