We've come full circle. KDE imitating Windows, and now Windows trying to catch up with KDE.
I agree on the choice paralysis. I ended up with Feddit.it because my native language is Italian and that's the biggest instance in my language.
Try searching for a local community, especially if English is not your first language.

I live in the EU and I'm happy we have it, because otherwise we wouldn't have many consumer protection laws (either because my government is stupid or because we wouldn't have enough leverage as a single country).

Italian is heavily gendered, even inanimate objects have genders. A chair? It's a female. A door? It's a male.
It's not easy to modify a language; some people on the internet are trying using stars and other non-letters, but the result is ridiculous and nobody actually speaks like that in real life.
