The company responded, but the shareholders voted on each of the proposals. While certain shareholders made the proposals, the shareholders overall voted against it.

The board recommended voting against it, but the shareholders collectively did that.

More accurately, Amazon shareholders voted against the proposals.

Nooooooo. I can't remember my ICQ, maybe I still have it somewhere, but this is still sad.

At least IRC is still going.

Edit:

In its heyday, ICQ boasted over 100 million users on its platform, which was a remarkable achievement at the time. In 2010, ICQ was purchased by Mail.ru (now VK), who has since owned the products as it declined in use.

Today, ICQ announced that they are shutting down on June 26th, recommending that users switch to VK Messenger and Workspace.

So apparently Russian business killed it.

Hasn't Telegram always been a Russian asset?

Still unlikely to develop human to human transmission this way.

Is it a lifestyle thing or a mental health thing?

Bit of both, with a dash of enablers (usually parents).

Back in my day it was just boob edits.

Yeah but the players aren't deleting stuff, they're spamming complaints and using bots to do so.

The developers may be nuking their own service to clean up, but that's not what the title says.

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, I think you've nailed why the headline bothers me. Nuked would be deleted whereas here they've swamped them with criticism. Tarkov players raided, the developers nuked in response.

Woah they NUKED it, is that like almost as hard as SLAMS?

Data collection is theft. Every one of us is being robbed at least $50 per year. That's how Facebook and Google are worth billions.

If you're talking about the voters, sure.

The people writing the laws are doing it purely for profit. They get paid by businesses, the businesses get the cheapest labor possible.
