participation in local politics is one.

I beat elden ring and the expansion.

it took me 200 hours. it took me 6+ months and a few holiday breaks to do it.

most games are like 1/10 of that length. game is crazy massive and long and detailed. and id' probably have to sink 500h+ to get all the details and endings and experience the various play styles.

or it's because IRL our gaming interests aren't something we can talk about. I haven't had a IRL friend who thinks gaming is cool since I was 15. I'm 40 now. for 25 anytime I bring up my interest in games my 'friends' or girlfriends cringe and tell me to STFU about my weird immature stupid interest.

on twitch and youtube i can find people who share my joy of games and appreciate them and openly talk about their fond memories of playing them and how important they were to their childhood. IRL talking saying shit like that gets you socially shamed and ostracized.

a lot of software dev people are incredibly naive when it comes to how human beings interact and behave.

their biggest mistake is often they assume other people are chill nerds like they are...

i already have had multiple weirdos harass me on lemmy for not being leftist enough. i've blocked dozens now, and really kills the experience to have some crazy people go around and brigading your comments because you disagree with their political viewpoint slightly.

way too many people take the internet comments/points WAY too seriously...

I taught business ethnics for MBAs when i was in graduate school.

The only 'ethics' they learned was 'maximize shareholder value at any price'. They spent an entire semester learning to to argue why murdering people and abusing people was morally justified as long as the share price goes up. That was the curriculum. Nothing else mattered.

What gets me is a lot of people in the education world are starting adopting this bullshit attitude. My city removed advanced level math courses from middle/high school because it was 'unfair' to students who lacked the talent/drive to be good at maths... basically handicapping everyone because a subset of the students were bad at math. Basically nobody is allowed to be better than someone at something and pursue their talents... because that is 'mean and hurtful'. WTF

Thanks for having a good attitude. Way too many folks these days... are whiny and entitled and think nothing should be enjoyed by anyone if they can't enjoy it. I'm athletic and I enjoy difficult/complex video games... and it's always bizarre to me how some folks get some angry at me for enjoying things they don't/can't. I can't play grandmaster level chess or a musical instrument, but I'm not angry about it.

I'm 75% through and have had very few issues with the game man. But yeah, bosses take time to learn and figure out. Takes me about a dozen tries per boss then I'm smoking them.

Learn the patterns, equip the right buffs, and it's really not that hard.

the reality is that incompetent managers love to blame their employees for not doing shit they never told them to do.

How do you be a NEET?

Do you live with your parents and they just don't give a shit? or is it more of a trust fund kid thing.
