God I wish we could force game journalism to never use to comparison again. It's basically impossible these days to parse the media on any given game without having to know an entire library of previous games first.

In this case, I know Bioshock, but my point still stands. Remember when Palworld came out? It was effectively impossible to find any review/preview/commentary on the game that didn't include something like "Palworld isn't a Pokemon-like, it's actually ARK with cute pals," which is worth exactly fuck all to anyone who isn't familiar with ARK.

Like I know we've been calling games journalism lazy for a long time, but it's gotten to the point where people don't even talk about game features or mechanics, they just list a bunch of other games with similar ideas instead.

Fuck, I might even prefer crappy ChatGPT articles to modern game discourse.

Important caveat: I did not watch the video and am only responding to the headline which clearly got under my skin for some reason, apparently.

And I bet horse carriages outsold the Ford Model-T this year too

Blizzard has been dead for at least a decade. Anyone who is still interacting with the ghoul that is inhabiting Blizzard's corpse is a fool.

That text is like 4x too large for me. I used to 1 composition notebook for all my classes and stilled ended the year with tons of blank pages because my default text size is so small

The problem with loss is the impact of it is ...ahem... lost without the context of what an enormous douchebag Tim Buckley was online at that time. Like part of what makes loss so ridiculous is the audacious sanctimonious nature of the comic coming from the internet's least-likable egotist and troll. You can read as many KYM wikis as you want, but if you weren't around to witness what a fucking shitbag Buckley was during that time then you can't really feel the way loss hit when it hit.

This just simply isn't true.

Granted, this is some random bullshit website, but they do list their sources, and they claim

"1 in 4 TikTok users are under 20 years old"

https://explodingtopics.com/blog/tiktok-demographics

25% is hugely different than *the majority of users."

Tiktok isn't a kid's app, has never been a kid's app, and while it's popular with kids if you are an adult with normal adult patterns you aren't going to get served minor accounts to follow unless you are actively seeking that or have interests or hobbies with an big younger skewing (such as if you follow the #minecraft hashtag, I would imagine).

Undoubtedly, especially since I haven't taken particular steps to obfuscate my identity here.

But as I said in a comment below, I'm more worried about some unhinged nutbag online randomly targeting me than being a person of interest by any nefarious groups or organizations.

Cool dude, you've identified that big corporations data farm.

Random bloke user with a vendetta still doesn't know who I am, and that's who I'm more worried about on the personal scale.

Not allowing reviews on the storefront seems minor, but is in fact an aggressively anti-consumer move given the standards of the industry. They've got other issues too, but that one gets ignored way too often for me to not mention
