Like speeding tickets.
As a rich person you are fine to endanger the rest of the people on the road for a small fee. As a company it is fine to violate laws and rights of people for a small fee.

Ground News lets you at least choose the outlet you read it from.
At least unlike most times this Guardian article is written by them and not just quoting the AP source like most other sites are doing.
The comments on here vs the comments on the cross-post really shows the diversity of the fediverse on different instances.

Alot of things I cant find on torrents are still around for streaming and dload that way.

Baby steps are better than no steps for sure
My friends hate the need to do this. It does just take a second to click into community / instance and block it and you won't be bothered again but a lot of people can't be bothered with that one second even and would rather have something simpler unfortunately
