And the previous generations had TV. Interestingly enough boomers I've known are the ones who still had TVs on almost constantly post 2010 when more and more people are giving up watching broadcast TV.

I had a blank keyboard once. This was so long ago that it was probably a manufacturing fluke but I really liked it. Though whatever the caps say didn't really affect the use in any way.
Most do. But it might just be USB sockets around the dash area or center console. Still probably at least one 12 V one somewhere and often one in the trunk.

Quite likely even power windows were driven by microcontrollers close to 2000 and used bus messaging between buttons and (non driver window) controller. Mercedes, certainly.
This is Lenny. Most users probably do. Good percentage still have a few. A few of us make new ones now and then.
(Technically not dumb ones, though. And completely excluding terminal emulators, which are of course ubiquitous.)
Fear of the dark
Well, you don't really have to try anything. You can pick a suitable one and just use it. Don't like something? Configure. Want software? Install software. Yes, that works for desktop envs. Got problems? File reports and/or ask for help.
If you pick one that isn't going to die out in a while, you can probably keep using the same distro for life. Debian is highly likely to outlive us all.

I did a search! I want to see search results and nothing else. The last possible thing I'd watch is what I already finished before searching for a different very specific thing.
