But here, the API is open and I can run my own copy and train my own LLM same as anyone else. It's not one asshole who decides to whom and for how much he'll sell the content we all gave him for free, so he can justify his $193 million paycheck.

I've had exactly that in my personal slack space since OpenAI announced gpt3. He's helpful and hilariously accurate.

I think the joke is that the AI trained on SO data to the point that duplicate, similar, or common questions would get this treatment. Since that's common enough on SO to be a meme.

And then they start making that squish sound from being jostled.

 

This issue is already quite widely publicized and quite frankly "we're handling it and removing this" is a much more harmful response than I would hope to see. Especially as the admins of that instance have not yet upgraded the frontend version to apply the urgent fix.

It's not like this was a confidential bug fix, this is a zero day being actively exploited. Please be more cooperative and open regarding these issues in your own administration if you're hosting an instance. 🙏

 

She says she's open to it but doesn't find it as intuitive. So there's a chance.
