I wouldn't hate the pixel treatment the FF games got. I am playing through FF1 and have the other 5 on tap. I played the intro to FF6 and the changes are a real QOL improvement.
Since the advent of data transmission over cable, this has always been the case.
Mate, the eye strain of staring at a screen 5" from your face is monumentally higher than being able to relax your vision while staring at a monster screen.
Projectors are so easy. Currently watching Hulu on an 85" screen.

Honestly, I always HATED dual-booting off one drive. It's infuriating and Windows can and will fuck your boot loader. I always found it so much easier to just have two disks and select which one I wanted to boot from the quick-post boot menu, or hopefully have a grub that matches the windows drive. That way both disks stay agnostic of the boot partitions and partition types. When I was a runt in college I had a laptop with a drive tray back when those were a thing. Now I just run Windows in QEMU on my laptops.
Yeah hate the business as much as you want but they never stopped making AAA games worth playing. Literally everything else has gone to shit but Mario is still fucking awesome.
