My guess is that since Ring has a history of well-known collaborations with police and ICE, they wanted to re-frame their evil surveillance network as a way to save a puppy. Instead, lots of uninformed normies suddenly realized what those cameras are capable of, and had a huge negative reaction given the state of things.

This mess is by design. They pay the manufacturers (a pretty penny, I’m sure) to put it on there.

I told people I was going to Chicago, they acted like I was going to Gaza. It’s a fucking city, stop pretending Fox “news” speaks any kind of truth

No man is an island, and a society where everyone only does right by themselves is no society at all.

I’m still laughing at this comment

Yeah, understood. I was just saying that because it doesn’t seem technically possible now, don’t discount that it could be in the future. Whether it would be useful, that’s another debate. But I have a hard time believing it has practical uses. If it does though, the innovation will be rapid like the shift to silicon transistors (assuming it is even possible).

requires extremely complex and expensive materials, tools and physical conditions.

Counterpoint: they said the same thing when a computer was made of vacuum tubes and took up an entire room to add two digits.

You really don’t need uBO in Orion though. It has adblocking and zero-telemetry out of the box.

I’m just so cynical at this point. His car company is crap, he’s a right-wing joke, but his public company is near an all-time high. I see so many new teslas where I live, it’s so disheartening.

I believe we call that a meme stock now
