You're just too dumb, it's ok
Our electoral system is trash, designed in a way that disproportionately favors groups willing to compromise and coalesce behind a single candidate. If we split the vote by voting our conscience while the "other side" consolidates behind a single candidate, we're at a serious disadvantage. The core issue is how the public is ignorant, or worse, misinformed and confident (made easier by ignorance). This is a failure of our education system, a system that's been declining for decades. Not a lot I can do, I was born into this.
As just one cog in the machine, my power is limited. If I see a close race between two candidates, with others trailing far behind, I'm compelled to compromise for what I believe is the better outcome. If you prioritize supporting a third party, or if you genuinely see both leading candidates as equally shit, then by all means, vote third party. We all have our priorities. However, I do resent being judged for making pragmatic compromises to cause some change, as mild as it may be.

You decrease the value of your vote when you write in yourself every time. Do you really have to agree with 100% of what anyone says? I'd have to write myself in if that was true.

I think they have a live usb that you can boot into to see if the issues are still occurring there to try and rule out hardware. Would probably be my first go-to. If that works well, probably backup, wipe, follow the framework guide for your OS, and hopefully that does it. :)

I got used EPYC stuff and a 3090, but basically the same template; just a few more resources.
However, I haven't run into some of the issues you had. With the proxmox host on wired ethernet and my laptop on 5GHz wifi from about 10ft away from the access point I can easily play Rocket League with no noticeable latency, 1440p 120Hz. I'm using sunshine on a windows VM and moonlight on Fedora. It did, indeed, take a crapload of fiddling and I consider myself pretty adept at these things, but it can be done. :D
I also swap the GPU between two VMs. I have a Ubuntu VM I use for AI workloads for fiddling around. On that one, I just ssh in and the GPU is 100% utilized for AI. Planning to add another GPU in the future (or a few).
Can't speak to remote connections, but my previous experience with cloud providers tells me it might be good enough for slow paced games, but it will fail horribly on anything really latency dependent. Best case scenario is the latency is off by just enough to make you lose your mind, or worse, you get use to the weird remote latency and then get all screwed up when you play at home.
