This is the same false analogy people make as to why Americans drive giant trucks to shift blame... it's not the manufacturers who are pushing these cars to circumvent taxes, it is the users for demanding it.

Very few people actually like these invasive shit Microsoft pulls, but the vast majority either do not know about them, understand them or feel they have another choice. For example, I hate MS, I understand what dog shit this Recall feature is, yet my job will provide a Windows machine with it and I have no choice but to use it.

I am a nerd so at home I do have everything running on Linux. But for the majority of people that would be a unknown option or just an unobtainable one

True, but I don't think Keanu here is giving career advancement advice

This is not a good deal. First of all I highly doubt this mobo and CPU will be Windows 11 compatible so you're out of luck there.

That's a feature lol

For $373 you can find an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and mobo combo deal that will vastly outperform this Chinese CPU

Really? I'm actually asking because I don't think you can get the amd combo you mentioned at that price. Also, we'd need to confirm the specs and performance. So far it would be just speculation

Less than $400 for mobo, cpu and fan is not expensive even if it's a couple of gens behind

Exactly... I have regular buds for running and I hate them because they inevitably shift around a bit and , when I try to get them back in place, they start misinterpreting my touch with whatever touch command they were preprogrammed

These ideas sound nice in the brainstorming room but, in my experience, have rarely panned out in practice

This belongs to "I'm 13 and this is deep" on reddit

[–] exanime@lemmy.today 5 points 7 months ago

Yeap I'm just saying it's sadly all too common

I'm actually degoogling at the moment precisely because of all this

[–] exanime@lemmy.today 8 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Sadly, that's what we do with phones, cars, tvs, etc

[–] exanime@lemmy.today 3 points 7 months ago

Then it's just useless...

The blackberry was the exact opposite, it was an unpolished piece of ugly hardware that was, at the time, incredibly useful

Pretty tech that accomplishes nothing is akin to the garbage toy lights they peddled to kids in Disney... Just landfill e-waste

So you are speculating this is all good and innocent while I'm speculating they hire this guy to aim their data harvesting in a way the government would want to pay tons for it... Yet your speculation is apparently more valid then mine because, checks notes, reasons

There was some case where shareholders sued the board or the CEO because they were borderline embezzling.

In the judgement there was some language that these thieves were not prioritizing the shareholders and from that, the whole lie evolved that USA corporations have to kill their grandma's if that's the only way to profit

[–] exanime@lemmy.today 13 points 7 months ago (2 children)

They legally can't prioritize shit but shareholder profits.

This is a lie... Stop spreading it as it helps corporations hide behind it to do evil shit
