I don't think logseq has fully automated synchronization, at least it didn't when I started using it. What it does have is the option to automatically git commit changes. You can then synchronize through a remote repo. It isn't fully automatic and requires a remote repo you can trust with your data but it works great for me

That's the beauty about open source: it isn't beholden to the whims of anyone. If disagree with the Linux Foundation, you're free to make your own independent fork. Others that agree with you can then start contributing to the fork. And this isn't a purely theoretical scenario as it has happend with other open source projects before.

They did some great fan service before. In Borderlands 2, there is the NPC Michael Mamaril in Sanctuary who can randomly give out guns when talked to. That NPC is a tribute to the real Michael Mamaril, a fan that passed before Borderlands 2 was released

Yes, absolutely. When you look at the innovations happening to Windows recently like Copilot integration and Recall I'm glad that Linux is "boring"

Something similar already happened when bicycle manufacturer VanMoof went under. I believe there was a workaround if you extracted your bike's crypto keys before the servers went down but otherwise you were practically screwed.

What in this article had you jump to the conclusion that he wanted to chop his penis off? Dysphoria is a thing, no questions about that, but the vast majority of men don't want their penis removed and from the article it doesn't seem this man is an exception.

First of all, self mutilation is a known phenomenon of psychotic episodes. While this is the first documented case of penile amputation that's also the reason the case study was conducted and we're reading about it at all.

Next, he has years of depression in his past. For a depression do be diagnosed he has to be under some form of psychological care. While no guarantee that greatly improves the change of dysphoria being diagnosed, especially if it were severe enough to resort to self amputation with an axe.

Ultimately, once he came to his senses he did everything in his power to save his penis. If it was his great plan to amputate his penis while making it look like a drug-fueled accident or even if just wanted it removed but couldn't do so while sober, why would he put it on ice? Shouldn't he be glad or relieved it's gone? If he was dysphoric, I would expect him to make sure it doesn't get to the hospital with him.

Everything here implies that he didn't want to mutilate or amputate his penis and in that case implying it was intentional quite insulting, too.

The difference is, that you could just continue using XP until Win7 was released or continue using Win7 until Win10 was released. Win10 will reach end of life next year and then the only supported Windows will be Windows 11. Vista or Win8 were never as forced as Win11 is now.

Minecraft was just the example they used in the post but I agree. Minecraft is no indie game studio anymore atleast since Microsoft took over. But at least the free update policy hasn't changed since the takeover

The Factorio Devs made this Blogpost some time ago about how to go forward with development. It basically boiled down to developing a big (paid) expansion pack. I would be totally fine with Stardew Valley doing the same. However, going for free updates was discarded for Factorio because they have a "smaller but more dedicated audience [compared to Terraria and Minecraft]". I don't think that applies to Stardew Valley so free updates might be the way to go.
