Syncthing is pretty good. I've got a raspberry pi running it on my local network with an old usb hard drive I had kicking around and it works great

Would recommend, I actually enjoy interacting with my computer now rather than just tolerating Windows

Proton is the reason I don't need any Windows machines anymore

The fact that they're gaming on it means they'll know how to use it later

When I was that age I didn't think much about the system I was using, it doesn't really appeal to kids but they'll still be learning
