Some of Steam’s oldest user accounts are turning 20-years old this week, and Valve is celebrating the anniversary by handing out special digital badges featuring the original Steam colour scheme to the gaming veterans.

Steam first opened its figurative doors all the way back in September 2003, and has since grown into the largest digital PC gaming storefront in the world, which is actively used by tens of millions of players each day.

“In case anyone's curious about the odd colours, that's the colour scheme for the original Steam UI when it first launched,” commented Redditor Penndrachen, referring to the badge's army green colour scheme, which prompted a mixed reaction from players who remembered the platform's earliest days. “I joined in the first six months,” lamented Affectionate-Memory4. “I feel ancient rn.”

So a user on Reddit (ed: u/Yoraxx ) posted on the Starfield subreddit that there was a problem in Starfield when running the game on an AMD Radeon GPU. The issue is very simple, the game just won't render a star in any solar system when you are at the dayside of a moon or even any planetary object. The issue only occurs on AMD Radeon GPUs and users with the Radeon RX 7000 & RX 6000 GPUs are reporting the same thing.

The issue is that the dayside of any planetary body or moon needs a source of light that gets it all lit up. That source is the star and on any non-AMD GPU, you will see the star/sun in the sky box which will be illuminating light on the surface. But with AMD cards, the star/sun just isn't there while the planet/moon remains illuminated without any light source.

Singapore's rating board, the IMDA, has rated an unannounced version of Horizon Forbidden West.

"Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition" popped up on the IMDA's website, having been approved for a "M18" – that's a mature 18 – given its "sexual references". The bundle includes both the base game and its expansion, Burning Shores.

Diablo 4, Path of Exile, and the rest of the ARPG genre has competition in the mega-ambitious Last Epoch, built by its Reddit community and heading towards 1.0.

Huge thanks to Bethesda for trusting me to be goofy in your world and for letting me make whatever I want. Once again I was tasked with making a four minute animation and we wound up going way overboard. Yet again it's my most detailed animation yet. Excited to dive into Starfield and you can too!

Several years ago PCG reported on the early stages of a project by programmer James Lambert, who really loves the N64 and decided for the hell of it to make a version of Portal that runs on hardware first released in 1996.

Well, Lambert is clearly the type of chap who commits to something and then follows through, because he's spent the time since then continually adding bits and bobs and now has something which, to my admittedly uneducated eyes, is the most impressive homebrew game I've ever seen.

If you found the companions in Baldur's Gate 3 to be a little too horny, well, it turns out that was due to a bug.

Relationships are a big part of the game's appeal, but there's no denying that companions come on a little too strong right from the off.

Speaking to TheGamer, game director Swen Vincke admitted that romances were bugged at the game's launch and have since been tweaked.

Starfield Premium owners now have access to the game in full and are testing their internet download limits with its massive 120 GB file size, but a few hopeful gamers are going to have to wait regardless of how much they paid in advance. Intel Arc GPUs currently cannot play Starfield, with varying symptoms ranging from the game not starting to it taking 30-40 minutes before presenting the player with a jumbled cacophany of texture mayhem. Users report that the executable does launch in the background, and that during the half-hour that it's visible in Task Manager it can consume as much as 30 GB of system memory, before either crashing or finally presenting the game menu. If one does manage to get to anything resembling gameplay, their time is short as the game will crash to desktop within only a few minutes.
