Microsoft: Our computer.

Maybe I’m being stupid but a trivial way to ensure this is just don’t connect it to the Internet in any way. No SIM card. Cut it off from the Internet after setup, and only connect to a LAN with your chosen services all physically isolated from any internet machines.

Indeed. This was obviously written by an anon who knows nothing about horses.

And that’s an optimistic estimate you’re giving. It assumes that your horse doesn’t have any issues that need tending to if you’re not a complete asshole or animal abuser.

Interesting study. However, I think we’re past the point of studies informing our decisions here in the US. I still thought it was really interesting to read.

That definitely sounds like a feature that should be added. I remember when you couldn’t even export your subscriptions.

The skeleton inside you.

The intended chair is a huge fan of data caps to increase profits, so I’ll give you one guess.

I can barely tolerate guests. No way can I do that to myself let alone make someone stay with me who has no say in the matter.

$1/mb is now the only plan in your area.

ISPs generally have few to zero competition, so I expect this will generally be awful in face of deregulation.

Best wishes, and thanks for all the memes!

Different goals and different designs. Why are there so many Linux distro?

Snap is proprietary. Appimage does not include distribution and updates. It also doesn’t attempt sandboxing of any kind.

On the other hand, I find appimage very convenient to use.

That is definitely a sacrifice being made here I agree with you. It gives developers more control over exactly how their app runs, but it does mean less storage efficiency.

I have a large DVD collection containing lots of niche titles that don’t appear to be on any public tracker. I would like to share my love of these films with the world.

I have access to a server that’s online 24/7 with a symmetric link and no data cap. My plan is to use a docker container with a web transmission instance to seed all of my material through a VPN provider (for my own safety). My server was last rebooted 200 days ago; I intend to rack lots of uptime seeding with my server. I have technical skills and I can ensure I’ll have an open port to accept connections.

Questions: what steps should I take to protect myself in seeding these DVDs? Is there a guide or some recommendations you can provide to get the best quality out of the many hours I’m going to spend ripping? Is it possible to trace the DVD reader that made the rip? Are the cool kids still uploading torrents or is there a better technology I should be using?

Overall, I have plenty of content to share, but I don’t want to put myself at risk when I do.
