ZFS also has snapshotting too FWIW.

I think FPS was actually selected, not frametimes. 1% low frametimes of 89 does not make sense.

There is an issue with the image in the article, but not the one that you might think it was. The FPS should have been more clearly indicated that it was the selected tab and then it probably would have been fine.

edit: I went to the base website https://www.computerbase.de/2023-12/welche-linux-distribution-zum-spielen/2/ it's in German, but, it seems like the frametimes and frame rates are nearly the exact same values - which doesn't even seem to make sense to me?

It's a bit of an uncommon distro for servers but it's a fine choice. :)

You catch more bees with honey than vinegar. Smart developers treat all their users well and then they get the same treatment in return. It's the smartest way to do things.

That does seem like an unfortunate side effect of federation. If only there were some way this could be handled, perhaps a protocol defining how communication should work, and maybe they could call it ActivityPub.

Look at me, I'm the admin now.

Yep, games being designed to support Ubuntu first is a big reason why I'm so far into Ubuntu. I could easily switch if I needed to since I'm both a programmer and very comfortable with Linux but for me, it does everything I need an OS to do.

I use Ubuntu. It generally tends to be boring stable, which is kinda what I want out of my OS these days. I can still customize it, and even break it if I really get bored, but it's nice to have things just work for the most part.

That's not true, there are other countries with this problem like UK and Canada.

It would help a lot more with SEO-friendly URLs. https://lemmy.ml/post/7417691 is not very SEO friendly at all.

You are right, we won't be able to agree on this.

There is no expectation of privacy in public.

I guess I disagree that an office, or someone's home office is considered a public space.

State employees at any level have authority to abuse, it’s just a very large range.

State employees aren't actively gunning people down in the streets, unless they are cops. I think it's a very big difference. I think you need the accountability that a body cam provides on someone who can literally end lives in seconds.

I'm not sure violating privacy rights is the way to go about restoring civil rights.

Body cams are because police have authority and are interacting with the public. Office workers working on information that is often likely PII, thus violating the privacy right of citizens too, and violating the privacy rights of office workers in the name of civil rights still doesn't really sit right with me.
