OK Netflix, you don't count 🤣

I know they are open source and 'acknowledged contribution', but have no idea where they are headquartered. Although it's very likely also US based.
Because this is also part of enshitification. What you mention is just another symptom of it.
I'm not waiting for that shit to happen. I just moved over to headscale and am done with tails ale. They will enshitify, it's a matter of when, not "if".
Eso es correctísimo. I don't want ANY AI in my servers looking for anything, regardless of if they are crawlers or if it's on behalf of some lazy fuck.
I drive a BYD Han, and I get to choose if lane keep or lane assist are enabled when using cruise control.
In all honesty, in 2 and a half years with the car, it's been flawless with lane keep and lane assist. However, I only use them in the freeway. Don't trust the tech enough to not crash me sideways in the city.
If only we could all resolve our disputes like this every time, even after it got heated. But 1 interaction like this is better than none. This proves that we can all understand each other if we're willing to put ego aside for a bit. You helpede push that a hit, and I really appreciate it.
I am an asshole, that's never been in question, and I fully own it. Having said that, no amount of "social programs" is going to have any effect if fucking parents don't raise their kids right.
I'm entirely against surveillance, except when it comes to parents and keeping a close eye on everything their kids watch, browse or otherwise access (evidently making it known to the kids that "I can see EVERYTHING you see and do").
So, yeah, hang the imbecile parents that should not have had kids in the first place because a fucking social program or school would raise them instead. Fuck off.
Yes I can, moreso after your clarification. I must have misread it the first time. Sorry.
~~"thought crime"? And you have the balls to talk about using words "by their meaning"?~~
This is a solid action with a product to show for it, not a thought, which happens to impact someone's life negatively without their consent, with potentially devastating consequences for the victim. ~~So, can you please use words by their meaning?~~
Edit: I jumped the gun when I read "thought crime", effectively disregarding the context. As such, I'm scratching the parts of my comment that don't apply, and leaving the ones that do apply (not necessarily to the post I was replying to, but to the whole thread).
I'm in a similar place with books and comics. Of course, nowhere near the Jupiter size collection of media you have, but easily 2.5TB+ of just books and comics.
My wife, my kids and I are all avid readers, so we are always sharing some book or comic arc. We're all rerunning all of Lobo's arcs, it was Deadpool a couple of weeks ago (that should tell you all anyone needs to know about our family 😜)
