Exactly. It completely brushes off how hard it can be to build even one single monopoly by pure luck

Gorhill is free to do whatever he wants, of course, I thank him for all the good work. But his reaction is honestly childish and dangerous for the community. Once again his decision to pull the plug opens the door to abusers. Now when you go to the addons page and search for uBlock, you may find illegitimate extensions pretending to be uBlock which are trying to collect your data or worse. Less tech say people don't know any better.
We have collectively agreed that Mozilla is a) not reviewing extentions enough, and b) reviewing too much.
The people who say you become more conservative usually mean that you will become more well off. And indeed when they earn their financial freedom, they want to protect the status quo. So they start seeing others as threats: be it young people wanting more rights, employees wanting fair salaries, immigrants coming for your hard earned money, everyone is a threat. This is the how the mind of an unempathic person works.
I am more conservative in the sense that I see things with more nuance. I understand societies are very complex systems in a fragile equilibrium and that my naive solutions to the world's problems are not feasible.
And yet, each day I'm more convinced we need to eat the rich.
I mean, that direction is extremely lucrative, whereas AI is extremely expensive and totally unproven to be profitable.
I think it's a shame that CGP Grey and Philip from Kurzgesagt both bailed early on. I never quite got why, but I guess Nebula for them was just canibalizing their lucrative youtube/patreon business.
I also hate the UI tbh. I want the front page to be my subscriptions. Instead you get a weird horizontal scrolling panel on a secondary tab. I wish I could get an inbox, RSS style, so I could either watch them or skip/mark as watched.
Nebula also suffers from the homepage being cluttered with old videos that are no longer relevant. For example I don't care to watch news and tech videos from 2022.
I pay for Nebula and, although there's a lot to watch there, skimming through the boring stuff is horrible.
Tamagochis will be millenials' mid life crisis. They can't afford a sports car.
I have no issues like that. Maybe your microphone is damaged. What has been bugging me is the top speaker sounds terrible.
Calling it by its dead name I see.
