The initiative start with the game "the crew", where ubisoft shut down the servers and you can't even play singleplayer. The argument is that your product can be removed without your consent. The counter-argument is that it is not a product, it is a license.

The best possible outcome is that developers be required to keep games playable if they don't want to maintain it anymore,by either updating the game to work offline or providing lan/private server capabilities.

It might just end up being a warning when buying the game like "this is a license, not a product: access may be revoked at any time"

If it works with any git platform, you have several alternatives + self hosting.

The chokepoint is the index, but if the mod repo is up and you have the url by some other way, it should work

You have a lot of faith in people's logic level. Most people read at 6th grade level. There is a person saying "I think this", do you really think everyone in there thought "I'm completely unaware of what the deceased thought"

I talk about the power being in the hand of a single person, and your first alternative is the internet?

You went from black to white and forgot all the colors in between

Same here, judge didn't know the law and denied my request, where another government body (that deals with that type of thing exclusively) already said I was right. Brazil

Yes, these are troubling times for many places since these fascists seem to wal together whenever they show up. But I see a much sharper decline in freedom in the last 10 years. Even so, let's look at other numbers I'll use Brazil as an example: poverty reduce from 68% in 1970 to 10%. There were 450.000 thousand university students in 1970, now 8.4 million. 28% of houses had access to sanitation in 1970, now it is almost 80%.

This improvement happened and is still happening all around the world. We save so many kids lives that we overpopulated the world. We just have to be careful now to not let the assholes undo this

America is in decline, yes, but all of those things that america is losing, other countries are gaining. Most countries in the world got better and are still getting better. The first world/america is getting worse, but, as you said, it is just part of the cycle. The world is not ending because US is going downhill.

And when I say I don't trust judges and that the justice system of most places is broken for giving a single person the final decision power, based on whatever they think is right, people say I'm trolling.

Judges pull decisions out of their ass to fulfill whatever interest they have. Or sometimes just because they are stupid.

Good judges are super rare.

Other prosthetic/mechanical changes to hearts don't do that, so I would guess this one doesn't either. It would require interfacing with the brain and decoding stimulus, which would be much more complex.

Usually the recipents just keep activity low or pass out when they need the energy/heat dissipation and can't get it.
