The prices supposedly only covers the fees related to domains that everyone has to pay.

Having everything on just a few VM hosts is so much easier, cheaper, and efficient. It's eventually a bigger investment though. The days of bare-metal are long gone!

Also putting general storage on a DC is a really bad idea. The VM or machine running ADDS should run exclusively ADDS (and required services like DNS)
