Fuck it. This scam was clever enough that I appreciate and sorta admire it.

In every other circumstance I can think of, “I can’t make money doing a thing unless I break the law” means don’t do that thing.

Why should AI get special treatment?

I was pleasantly surprised by this sentence:

But I made it a point to explain [to my children] that while sometimes being homeless can be a result of not making good choices, sometimes it's a result of not having good choices.

It smacks of empathy, which is more than I expected. Whatever one may think of the author, she’s trying to teach her children to be better, and that counts for something.

Yes, but you can also do a chargeback if the company you purchased from sold you a lousy product and isn’t being reasonable about returning it. If you had paid with cash, that cash is GONE.

Each method has its pros and cons.

That’s my point. Either way, you’re not getting reviews.

Paying for early access isn’t any different from preordering. People will never learn.

Is “Discuit” pronounced like Triscuit?

I hate myself for wanting to know how the interview went

Huh. You might be right.

Quick guess - as people become enormously successful, the values they had as individuals often fade. Executives forget what it was like to live paycheck to paycheck (assuming they didn’t have rich parents to begin with). They feel less need to hide (or even acknowledge) their flaws, because now they’re making “fuck you” money.

Our society values money over integrity. If you’re rich enough, you can literally get away with murder.
