On mobile, I don’t use the app. I use safari + youtube.com with vinegar app and adguard.

No ads plus I get PIP. Quality is a hit or miss but idc about that.

I have been exploring self hosting my email.

Docker mail server for backend. Roundcube for web ui

Still keeping accounts at mainstream providers though as backup, especially for outgoing mail.

I am just waiting for a malware developer or state actor to use this as a way to infect computers with 0-days.

This is a disaster. Why anybody would decide to use Windows for any serious workloads is unfathomable to me.

Office products are mostly cross-platform (outlook, word, excel).

There was a subset of Google contractors trying to unionize but while the group was campaigning at city hall. Google executives decided to not renew the contract and all of them were jobless.

Yet another reason to avoid Apple hardware.

I invested so much into this stupid ecosystem. Feels silly now after realizing how abusive this company is and the lengths it will go to keep you walled in.

.. and open source projects continue to list discord as a community option to discuss items about their project.

 

When Lemmy was making waves last year when Reddit pulled an “enshittification” of the platform. One of the first things I noticed was how terrible the experience was when trying to navigate to other Lemmy instances.

Hopefully this will help bridge the gap when it becomes generally available.
